Sightings in Andonia
This site details the events of Andonia, a bizarre realm of thoughts and dreams. The artist for this site is Andy Statia. If you'd like to see his other site (that has colour drawings), you can find it at Beet's World.
Week 10
2006-11-02, Week 10, Day 7
This and that

Picking up the pieces. Andonian life has been shattered. But though the whole is cast asunder, each piece still reflects as brightly.

The citizens of Andonia get out of their hiding holes and scour the regions for friends, family, and sometimes find unexpected trinkets lying about.

Though plan be destroyed,

And future cast aside,

Each grain finds water,

A form cast anew.

2006-11-01, Week 10, Day 6
Into life

The horrible gates of the twisted dimenional monsters were closed. Above the clouds, the accustomed Kerplah portal had suddenly churned violently and snapped shut after the meeting with the great blue fish. The verdant portal in the heavens that opened had quickly resealed as well, leaving no hint as to what lay on the other side.

Andonia lay below, awaking from a long nightmare. But some rejoiced, happy to be alive and happy that the danger had passed. Peoples of all dimensions cheered that day for the victory wrought.

Far up in the mountains, a wind stirred and a rock fell. Then something lost found another like itself.

2006-10-31, Week 10, Day 5
Don't Say Goodbye

The lands of Andonia became sealed. Purified of the tearing holes burnt by the space-time stresses. The future of life was returned.

Fishington of Ages turned his attention to the crew of the Venture. With a light flick of his fin, he drew out the powerful influence of Kerplah, flinging it back through the portal like spider web. Dark biting tentacles lashed out and consumed the essence. Nutrients returned to feed the growth.

Captain Keta collapsed, wearied beyond measure by the constant assault. The rest of his crew similarly fell. The ship drifted down to the earth, gently set at rest by careful spectral tendrils. Precious gem of a daughter's eye.

Looking hard at the world, Fishington saw what was next for him. He turned his massive penetrating gaze down on a vacant spot of a mountain and spoke to it quietly. Something seemed to respond. Fishington seemed to smile, then rose up and silently shot up into the sky. The great cannon in rigid vacuum.

All of Andonia saw the remarkable shape of that once tiny fish. It soared through the heavens and became small to the eye. Then it stopped.

It wasn't clear what Fishington did, but a new portal seemed to rip open near him. Through this portal did he leave the world, bathed in a warm green glow. Then all was calm. The darkness passed.

2006-10-30, Week 10, Day 4
Lock

"This place is looking rather rather a lot like Swiss cheese! Not at all like my father described world," mused Fishington.

The world of Andonia was stretched. Its very space-time had frayed and allowed the inner dimensions to break through. Pure silk ripped through by a forest of sharp thorns.

In his astral form, Fishington could see this damage in perfect detail. Every fissure stood out like a shining beacon. They hurt.

"You've had quite enough fun, little things," said Fishington to the dimensional creatures still wandering Andonia. "This isn't the place for you. It's time to go back home to your true masters."

Then that little fish from out of time extended his being to touch each and every breach in cutting through the world. Tendrils waved as though in a wind and each tip came to rest on a gateway. The beasts were stopped from pouring in.

Fishington felt the push of the sub-dimensions stop. He pushed every so slightly. The doors began to twist and collapse. A vacuum began pulling those horrors of the darkness back to their domains. Deeper dug the tendrils. More menacing creatures collapsed. Nothing of those realms could withstand the pull. They screamed in anger and fear.

"I'm quite sorry about this," intoned Fishington from high above, "but it's just not right you being here. I'll see if I can send you someone to help before I'm done here."

The remaining survivors of the evacuation region looked on in wonder as the fields began to clear. They could feel the change. Rank odour receded rapidly, being replaced with the warm glow of the monolithic ocean power.

2006-10-29, Week 10, Day 3
No More Tears

Fishington, that little minnow of the great ocean, given of prophecy from eons and moments before, bore his full potential now. Merged across all time, the great blue fish arose to change the doors.

The crew of the Venture saw the great fish approaching them. They burned with twisted emotion. The power of the vortex spat out against it. They drew their strength as one and fired on the timeless surface of the titanic fish.

Beams of destruction rolled off the energetic film of Fishington's fins, their power disappearing harmlessly into dimensional cracks.

Fishington carefully embraced the forsaken Andonia Venture. This poor ship's adventure was nearly at an end. Fishington could see everywhere and everywhen.

Speaking into the minds of the crew, he said, "Easy does it. I've got just the thing for you lot."

2006-10-28, Week 10, Day 2
Fishington's Big Day

Fishington comes to see what's going on with the Venture. They seem to be making quite a mess of things. Not particularly professional of them to be blowing everybody up.

Let's see if there's something we can do about that.

2006-10-27, Week 10, Day 1
Door of Creep

Keta, Visch, and Ta Po Nu Ki gaze out from the Venture bridge at a growing blue light approaching the ship. They feel its great power. The vortex of Kerplah tugs at their insides. It wraps its tentacles tightly about their cold souls. Torn flesh rewrapped around shattered bone, organs churned.

Keta: "Open all of them."

Visch: "Make them like others."

Ta: "We rebuild them right."

Tearing screaming horror blind,

Swirling vortex never kind.

Reaching screeching so near,

Blue time will clear.
